Independently lab tested at 10.44% NSC. That's non-structural carbohydrate low enough to matter if you're feeding a horse or pony with insulin resistance, Cushing's, or a history of laminitis. Montana Premium Forage sends every batch to Dairyland Laboratories and publishes the results — so you don't have to take our word for it.

Alfalfa and orchard grass hay, grown and sun-cured on a handful of selected farms in southwest Montana, then pelleted. Two ingredients, nothing else:
- No binders — most pelleted forage uses them, this doesn't
- No bentonite
- No mold inhibitors
- Non-GMO
Alfalfa brings the protein and digestible fiber; orchard grass brings the fiber and keeps it balanced. It's the most common hay mix fed to horses worldwide, and the pellets are soft enough to soak quickly for older horses and hard keepers.
From the August 2026 lab report: crude protein tested 19.22% against a 15% label minimum, RFV 133, starch 0.93%, ESC sugar 7.19%, calcium 1.32%, phosphorus 0.32%, equine DE 0.95 Mcal/lb.
Suitable for horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas and alpacas.

How to Feed
How to Feed
Gradually introduce Montana Premium Forage Alfalfa/Orchard Pellets to your animal to a max daily intake of 1% of body weight.
These pellets are recommended to be soaked in water for 30 minutes and fed wet to horses with dental problems and horses that aggressively consume their feed.
Alfalfa/Orchard Pellets should not be the only source of forage, but rather accompanied by some long stem forage (hay). Always provide free access to fresh clean water. If you are not sure about the use of pellets for your horse, please contact an animal nutritionist.
This product is also recommended for other large animal species such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas and alpacas. Please consult an animal nutritionist for other animals' daily intake recommendations.
To maintain product quality and ensure safety, properly store product in a covered, cool and well ventilated environment. Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses.
This product is manufactured in a facility that handles a variety of alfalfa and grasses.
