The original aspirin — literally. White willow bark contains salicin, the compound that inspired the creation of aspirin over a century ago. But unlike its synthetic descendant, whole willow bark delivers salicin alongside the plant's full spectrum of supportive compounds, resulting in a gentler, more balanced action on the body. It's nature's go-to for pain, inflammation, and fever — and it's been used in animal care for as long as people have kept animals.
Why goat keepers use white willow bark:
- Natural source of salicin — the body converts it to salicylic acid for pain and inflammation relief
- Gentler on the digestive system than synthetic alternatives, thanks to the whole-plant buffer of tannins and flavonoids
- Supports comfort during joint pain, arthritis, injury recovery, and general discomfort
- Traditional fever reducer — works alongside the body's natural fever response
- Useful postpartum for does recovering from difficult kiddings
- Pairs well with turmeric, comfrey root, and meadowsweet in pain and joint-support blends
Suggested use: Mix ¼–½ tsp per goat into feed during periods of pain, inflammation, or fever. Best used as a targeted intervention when an animal is visibly uncomfortable, rather than as a daily supplement. Can also be steeped as a tea for drenching when faster action is needed. Avoid use in late pregnancy as salicin may affect platelet function.
Pure wild crafted white willow bark powder. No fillers, additives, or artificial ingredients. Packaged in FDA/USDA compliant food-grade resealable zipper bags.
